Level 29 - Now is the Time to Panic

Weekly Report 29 4/15/19 - 4/21/19

From Monday to Sunday, the past week has been filled with near-constant efforts to finish important tasks largely ahead of schedule. This is a big contrast to the nature of other weeks because traditionally, procrastination has ruled supreme, but for an entire week that “it will happen eventually” mentality was abandoned in favor of rapidly ticking things off the checklist. If this was combined with a lack of sleep and adequate break time, it could be considered a real crunch.

Luckily, it is not a crunch. But elements of the Final Presentation are approaching sooner than initially anticipated, so the work ethic of the past week will be very helpful in making room for much needed rehearsal time and self composure in later days. The goal for the next week will be to take the free time created by the surplus of forward momentum and convert it into fruitful preparation for the presentation. This will require that the non-procrastinating work ethic of the past week to continue, and while that is not easy, the additional pressure of the upcoming events will make it more doable.

The Final Product, while still proceeding at a smooth, quick pace, could be placed on a slight hold as preparations get more hectic approaching May. While this may mean that the version of the project shown during presentations will not be as clean as I had hoped, it will not stop me from concluding the project with a game that satisfies the original intent of the project, as many of those desired experiences have already happened. With only a few weeks left before the official due date, juggling these two major works-in-progress will be the key effort governing the upcoming panic. Fortunately, as the rest of the year has shown, even when the workload appears too heavy, everything will be okay.

LEVEL CLEAR.
