About ISM

What Is ISM?

ISM, or Independent Study & Mentorship, is a highly challenging but rewarding program built to introduce high-achieving juniors and seniors to the professional world.

Students must submit an application and conduct an interview for admission into a two-semester elective course. Each student selects a career topic of study, with guidance from the ISM teacher.

​

Students will complete research, conduct informational interviews with professionals, choose a mentor, design original products, and deliver presentations. Additionally, the ISM teacher coaches students in professionalism, communication skills, effective goal setting, and other soft skills.

It enriches aspiring high school students in a way that no other course can offer.
