Level 26 - Upcoming Rushes

Weekly Report 26 3/25/19 - 3/31/19

In last week’s report, it was mentioned that the professionalism during the mentor visit could use improvement. This week, that improvement was seen to an extent. More eye contact and attention to speaking time and listening time made for a smoother visit this week.

Beyond that, the week was relatively ordinary. The Final Product has seen progress as usual, but as there are still a couple of days before the alpha stage officially begins, there was a bit of a rush to tie up some final loose ends. In this pursuit, there were two systems necessary for the Final Product which gave more trouble than expected, and although this slowed down progress a little bit, these setbacks were expected and accounted for from the beginning. It shows the value in attempting to overestimate the time necessary to complete tasks: often, when combined with the unexpected, the overestimate turns out to be just right.

The Final Presentation is also vaguely in mind, although tasks are still being delegated off to future weeks. It is probable that even though the official deadlines are not to occur in another week or two, this delay should probably end in order to ensure that the tasks necessary for organizing the big final event will not conflict too heavily with the train of progress for the actual Final Product. Going into April, the month will be rather busy as both Final Product tasks and Final Presentation tasks will need to be juggled simultaneously. Work will need to be extra diligent to complete these to excellence, and side projects will need to be managed for the time being. This is not a problem, as during a similar period of heavy college applications, I was able to set the same priorities to make fewer conflicting commitments. This will be the key to smoothly navigating the coming month.
