Level 22 - Better Speed, Better RNG

Weekly Report 22 2/18/19 - 2/24/19

The pace of the week seemed to be rather escalated. With regards to the Final Product, which has been continuing strongly due to consistent goal setting and allocated work time, features and improvements have been added at a heightened pace, with several notable achievements and several more to come. The mentorship has, of course, been of much helpfulness towards achieving these goals, as I was able to use the advise which was given and apply them to produce a better game.

Interestingly enough, there was also an interview conducted this week, which was not expected until the opportunity suddenly arose. It was not an incredibly formal process - it went into my contact log, but since it was conducted over video chat, there was no need to organize a location and travel - but nevertheless the interview was very fruitful. The information gleaned from the process was just as insightful as all the other interviews, and since he came to me with a few questions himself, there was also the opportunity to express my own passion for the career field. In the end, my fifth and final interview for the school year has been obtained through favorability in the random number generation of life, which I will gladly take in favor of manually searching out another opportunity.

It is a hope for me that the luck of circumstance of the interview can be replicated in my future in game development. The hope is that through the experience of the Final Product, the mentorship, and ISM, the skills that are obtained will open windows to allow these chance happenings to strike and these coincidental connections to be made. As the production cycles continue and more short-term goals are set and reached, it should allow this long term goal to see the light.
