Level 21 - Connections

Weekly Report 21 2/11/19 - 2/17/19

After the Original Work presentation was given, the rest of the week was able to be dedicated to starting the next phase of the Final Product. Beyond the obvious element of necessity, there is something special about having connections with people who can help advise on putting things together which cannot be found from simply doing it alone. Through the mentorship, we were able to put together a task list in a way which goes beyond myself. Through hearing back from various friends who agreed to playtest the current prototype, my idea of the polish to come in future updates solidified further. While the week itself was not particularly quick, the small, tight connections that have been made over the school year and over the years before have certainly been paying off. As a budding developer, being able to show a prototype to them is somewhat incredible.

In other news, an interview opportunity has brought itself to the table for the required fifth assessment. It comes courtesy of Caleb Biddulph, who has been a great fellow ISM student. Since I also provided him with an interview opportunity, it is a sort of trade, which displays the great power of these connections.

That being said, it is true that the week was somewhat slow. Other than something of a light cram on Tuesday, most days did not see very much visible progress in the way of development, and this will need to be remedied in the six other weeks of pre-alpha production. Luckily there are specific reasons why this week might have been slow, so that as long as procrastination is kept at bay and accountability is kept in check, progress will surely be made. In any case, the goals that were set for the project are on track for completion, thanks to the wonderful connections that have helped along the way.
