Level 15 - Steady

Weekly Report 15 12/10/18 - 12/16/18

The official mentor deadline has passed. While it feels that many other students have been racing away to get things done quickly (with an abnormal amount of absences for interviews and secured mentorships), my week felt comparatively slower. With regards to a mentorship, the steps that were deemed necessary in last week’s report were taken on schedule, but now there is a sort of waiting game where I am awaiting a certain response to either proceed with one thing or jump in another direction and do another thing.

The picture that comes to mind is one of a racing game, where the player car sits still, holding the drift button to try to get a mini turbo, while other cars pass by. The player is steady and cautious, trying to get the perfect angle to boost before progressing through the track. In that short moment, the player has composure and focus as they attempt to line things up. Similarly, my search for a mentor has not lined up just yet, which is why the deadline has passed without having found one, but if it lines up by the end of the week, the race can still be completed - just not quite in first place.

Speaking of racing games, this week also saw the beginnings of the racing game segment of the original work. This, at least, is something that is running ahead of schedule, as the goal was to get everything before it completed by the dawn of winter break. It shows that my goal to develop the work at a regular pace has been kept this far, and one goal for this week would be to maintain the steady pace which has gotten the project to this stage. I plan to do this by bringing my laptop into the ISM classroom on Tuesday to work on it then.

LEVEL CLEAR.
