Weekly Report 14 12/3/18 - 12/9/18
Last week I wrote down on a personal goals assessment that there would not have a mentorship secured by the expected deadline, but that I would shoot for a week after. After conducting an interview this week and polishing the look of my digital portfolio, it is seeming a lot more likely that the mentor deadline will be met after all. In my head there is a list of people to ask for a mentorship in what order, so that can be done reasonably soon. Of course, if complications arise, then a mentorship may not be secured so soon, but that would still be okay, since the goal that was set will not be failed.
In general, this week was one of morale boosting, with several victories of varying size. The interview went smoothly and featured more specific, helpful inquiries than the previous ones. The game that was put together during a game jam in the summer finally past post-production, and a postmortem over the game will be published soon. The digital portfolio showcases everything nicely, including two new interview assessments which allowed me to reevaluate the information that was gleaned from the previous two interviews. Overall, it feels like a platformer game where the player takes a big leap from one platform to the next only to find that the gap is much smaller than they originally thought.
This week, the plan is to attempt to solidify a mentorship by sending emails to the list in my head. Also, as the role-playing game segment of my original work comes to a close, a new genre should begin production by the end of the week. With the success of the past week, it seems only natural to expect the happenings of the coming one to regress to the mean, but that is not to say that it will necessarily be a slow week: after all, my capabilities of upholding my goals have not suddenly left, and the plan is to keep them for the rest of the year.
LEVEL CLEAR.
